CSV file is a very common file format that stores numbers and text ( tabular data ) in text form and all fields are separated with a specific character. Although this format ( .csv ) is widely used you do not have too many options when you have to choose a freeware CSV editor. We found four such applications that enable you to edit CSV files and all are free.

How to split a large text file into parts of your choosing: by line number; or by file size (Kb or Mb); and add a '.csv' extension to all splitted files; First example: auto split a single CSV file into multiple files of 200 lines each. Let's say I have one.csv-file that I want to split into. The tool has the ability to open CSV files, automatically identifying the delimiter and quote characters as an option, and also inserting few or all the lines. The best part is, it puts up the file in a table, where you can sort, rearrange, or hide the columns based on your requirement. Split-up any delimited file into file parts of equal size. CSVed is by far the most versatile of the four. Using it, you can work with very large files that store data separated with any separator. You can run multiple operations like: changing separator, split or join columns, search and replace, remove duplicates, add or delete columns, rearrange columns.

1. CSV Editor by Cleveroad Inc. Is an application which allows users to manipulate their CSV files by changing the table layout, headers, delimitation and more. Currently, there is no version of CSV Editor for Mac released on the developer's website, but users can install other applications from the same category.
2. Jun 30, 2020  CSV Converter is a simple application for opening, editing, and saving CSV files. The CSV file format is widely used to exchange data arranged in a table, as in a Numbers or Excel spreadsheet. CSV Converter is able to open CSV files that some apps are having problems with, preview the tabular data, and re-save it without the internal inconsistencies that cause the issue.
3. Split-up any delimited file into file parts of equal size. Join multiple delimited files into one resulting file. Quickly select which columns to extract and in which order. Extract data from any delimited file by specifying the columns, rows and/or filter to apply. Sort any delimited data file based on cell content.

Let’s go to our next solution called iMatrixitor. This is a flexible solution that can open CSV files and edit them. it includes a lot of features like the ability to modify files on a remote server, via FTP connection, but also on local HDD. On save it automatically refresh the files both on local disk and FTP server.

Out third choice is going to be a CSV editor written in Java and called, how else, Java csveditor :). It does some basic operations like pack rows, pack columns, row insertion before and after, column insertion before and after, delimiters selection. You can also customize the font you want to use.
